OhioGuidestone is looking for a detailed and team oriented
Maintenance Technician to work full time, Monday-Friday
(8:00AM-4:30PM). We are seeking a full-time Maintenance Technician
for our Summit County, Stark County, Franklin County, and
Tuscarawas County locations.
Essential Functions:
- Improves function and reliability of facility systems and
equipment.
- Provide guidance and supervision to outside contracted service
providers.
- Meets operational standards by contributing maintenance
information to strategic plans.
- Accomplishes maintenance and organization mission by completing
related results as needed.
- Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment
and plant facilities.
- Updates knowledge by participating in educational
opportunities.
- Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry
functions.
- Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and
material handling equipment in performing duties.
- Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those
and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly
work areas.
- Plans, or assists in the planning of, each day's activities
with respect to which locations will be attended to based on
factors including priorities, schedule, geographic location,
etc.
- Responds to maintenance requests in a timely fashion.
- Provides the same level of service to programs and personnel at
off-campus sites as is provided at our Berea campuses.
- Represents the department, and to some degree administration,
while conducting business and interacting with program
personnel.
- Maintains excellent relationships and communicating effectively
with program directors and their supervisory staff, and ensures
that their needs are identified and addressed.
- Identifies and sets up accounts with various vendors and
sub-contractors in the locale of our off campus sites.
- Performs regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment
and OhioGuidestone facilities.
- Maintains communications and good working relationships with
landlords of assigned facilities.
- Meets with assigned site inspectors conducting fire, safety,
health and other inspections as required.
- Keeps assigned maintenance van stocked to anticipate any number
of needed repairs.
- Responds to alarm notifications and emergencies at any
time.
- Participates in initial set-up of new facilities.
- Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
- May be involved in the planning, organization, and
implementation of special events or department specific projects
seasonal program changes.
- Exhibit positivity, flexibility and a willingness to take on
new responsibilities as requested or required.
- Demonstrate positive leadership, promote a team-based work
environment and present the agency in the most positive light with
all internal and external contacts.
Performance/Physical Requirements:
- Work is highly physical in nature and involves heavy lifting,
bending, stooping, climbing and working with hands.
- On call 24 hours per day via cell phone.
- Ability to provide guidance and coaching to other
technicians
- Exhibit technical understanding and technical
leadership
- English reading and writing skills are required.
- Must be capable of driving trucks and vans and operating a
variety of equipment.
- Interact with co-workers, vendors, representatives from outside
agencies and clients.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required along with being skilled in
a variety of trades or possess mastery of a single trade (plumbing,
electrical, carpentry, etc.).
- Demonstrated leadership and management experience
prefered.
- Must be capable of working independently with minimal
supervision.
- Excellent communication skills and a service oriented attitude
are essential.
- Must have a valid Ohio Driver's License with a safe driving
record and valid insurance
- Ability to take and pass a physical exam, tuberculosis test,
and drug screening
