Sales Team Lead

Job Description:

Callahan's Carpet One is seeking an outstanding individual to fill our newly created Sales Team Lead position. In this role, you will oversee our sales team, acting as their primary point of contact to ensure smooth team operations and effective collaboration. You will provide them with effective guidance and support, ensure procedures are followed, and assist management as required. Ultimately, you will lead by example and engage the sales team to achieve goals. The Sales Team Lead will also be responsible for individual sales, customer service and administrative tasks. The ideal candidate will be a results-driven, sales-oriented people person with a strong ability for building relationships and providing exceptional customer service. Responsibilities: Oversee the daily activities of the sales team Encourage an open communication culture Recognize high performance and reinforce effective behaviors Improve the quality of the sales associates as a quality assurance agent through monitoring and coaching Provide sales staff with constructive feedback; discover training needs and provide mentoring Listen to team members' feedback and resolve issues/conflicts Implement all of the organization's regulations and policies Provide support and corrective measures Recruit and train new sales staff, assign specific tasks to other sales staff, and monitor the team's sales performance Solve customer complaints and answer customers' questions Prepare reports for senior managers Sell our store's products and services to maximize sales by: Greeting customers on the sales floor in a welcoming manner; conduct intake to determine their wants and needs Providing product and design advice; explain features and benefits of various types of flooring Performing measurements in client homes; create floor plans for installers Creating sales proposals Following up in a timely and professional manner with customers on all requests or concerns Using computer database to research availability of merchandise Creating and processing purchase orders; vendor management Obtaining payment or credit authorization Keeping up-to-date on flooring products, their benefits and warranties Qualifications: Working knowledge in retail sales, home improvement or design industries (flooring industry experience is not necessary; on-the-job training will be provided) Strong customer service experience Leadership: Supervisory or team based sales experience Excellent oral and written communication skills Proficient with computer programs; willing to learn our operating system Professionalism, dependability, accountability, and punctuality Strong time management skills; able to juggle multiple and competing deliverables Organized and detail oriented Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle Flexible work availability to include Saturdays We believe in creating a friendly work environment, where each person is an integral member of the team, yet responsible for his or her own results and earning potential.
