is an open position with FirstEnergy Service Co., a subsidiary of
FirstEnergy Corp. As an Application Configuration Analyst on the
Enterprise system Management team at FirstEnergy, you will have an
impact on the team's success. The position will be exposed to
technical skills and business process used in this area. - The
position will involve:
- -Working with platform support and applications groups for
monitoring of servers, databases, - network, devices, applications,
and job scheduling.
- Creating and modifying various scripts throughout the
- Administer and support various software tools including
configuration, project management, upgrades, etc.
- Training in the skill sets needed to meet individualized
objectives and development needs. Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer/Management
Information Systems, or related degree, or commensurate in lieu of
- Able to work in a team environment with a constant focus on
- Basic computer programming skills, as well as completed
coursework in one or more robust coding languages (PERL, Python,
and/or PowerShell preferred).
- Experience with Splunk IT Service Intelligence (ITSI) desired.
Familiarity with Micro Focus Operations Bridge Manager, Network
Node Manager, SiteScope & Application Performance Management,
ServiceNow Discovery, Tripwire Enterprise & AutoSys Workload
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills to work with
complex systems containing many moving parts.
- Demonstrated research and analytical skills to define and solve
problems and think creatively.
- Willingness to undertake assignments involving unfamiliar
subjects, as well as work independently and productively, with the
aptitude to learn quickly.
- Strong communication skills.
- Organizational skills to prioritize and plan work, multi-task
and meet schedules.
- Knowledge of Linux and Windows Server operating systems
