Under the direction of a supervisor or physician, you will receive and prepare patients for examination or treatment. A caregiver in this position works 8:00am-5:00 pm. A caregiver who excels in this role will:

• Document patient information in the patient medical record.
  • Perform stocking, maintenance and other related duties as assigned, including maintaining exam rooms, equipment and supplies.
    • Perform clinical and technical ophthalmic duties and basic patient care as directed by physician or supervisor. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
      • High School Diploma or equivalent.
        • Successful completion of the written exam for Certified Ophthalmic Assistant.
          • Recent graduate an Ophthalmic Technology Program (not yet COT certified).
            • 1 year experience providing direct patient care under the supervision of an Ophthalmologist. Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
              • Experience performing visual field testing, fundus photography, OCT, IOL Master, and contact lens I & R.                 • Manual dexterity to operate office equipment and PC.
                • Ability to lift and transport up to 25 pounds.
                • May require extended periods of standing, walking or sitting.
                • Visual acuity, including the ability to distinguish colors.Personal Protective Equipment:
