Job Description:

Schultz Campus for Jewish Life offers an array of family entertainment to the surrounding community in aquatics, recreation & wellness, camp programs, fitness, and childcare. We are looking for lifeguards who will oversee the safety of our members and children in our pools.

We are hiring lifeguards for our indoor pool AND the outdoor pool for the 2023 summer. Discounted training is available for guards who commit to working at the Shaw JCC this summer.

Our lifeguards are dedicated to the health and safety of our members and guests using the pool and will follow emergency responses within the American Red Cross guidelines. You will enforce all safety rules and regulations to prevent accidents, be skilled at rescues, and administer first aid. Lifeguards will also participate in daily pool maintenance; take and accurately record chemical readings; maintain cleanliness of the pool and its surroundings; and ensure proper storage of equipment. Other standard requirements include assisting with swimming lessons; being attentive at all times while on duty; maintain accurate records on injuries; and provide customer support to patrons in a positive manner.

Requirements

• Minimum age is 15 years old
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Strong reading skills
• Basic math and chemistry aptitude
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Problem solving abilities Qualifications
  • American Red Cross Lifeguard Training or equivalent is preferred
  • Pass a preliminary CPR and lifeguard swimming skills test
