Summary: The Senior Major Gifts Officer cultivates and solicits
individual donor prospects who are capable of contributing major
and/or planned gifts starting at $25,000, but with an emphasis on
gifts exceeding $100,000. May include travel and some nights and
weekends. Responsibilities:
1.Cultivates and solicits individual donor prospects who are
capable of contributing major and/or planned gifts starting at
$25,000, but with an emphasis on gifts exceeding $100,000.
2.Develops and implements a strategic fundraising plan for major
and planned gifts which complements the other fundraising programs
of Akron Children's Hospital Foundation.
3.Mentors other Major Gift Officers and team members.
4.Other duties as required. Other information:
Technical Expertise
1.Experience in professional major gifts $25,000 or higher
fundraising with a proven record of successful results is required;
healthcare fundraising is preferred.
2.Experience with donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship
is required.
3.Experience in planned giving and knowledge of tax laws and basic
financial strategies is preferred.
4.Travel and valid Ohio driver's license is required.
5.Experience working with all levels within an organization is
required.
6.Experience in healthcare is preferred.
7.Proficiency in MS Office Outlook, Excel, Word or similar software
is required. Database management software is required; Raiser's
Edge software is preferred.
Education and Experience
1.Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration,
Marketing, Public Relations, or related field is required; Master's
degree is preferred.
2.Certification: Certified Fundraising Executive CFRE is
preferred.
3.Years of relevant experience: 5 to 7 years is preferred.
4.Years of experience supervising: None. Full Time FTE:
