Position Summary

The Associate/Manager will work closely with potential target companies and partners, and third-party firms (including buy-side banks/brokers). Work closely with the entire senior leadership team when analyzing and implementing acquisitions to perform financial analysis on targets, support diligence efforts and close transactions. The candidate will also work collaboratively with the LHS team and Gridiron Capital to assess strategic fit, branding, product development and other strategies to ensure successful post-acquisition integration into the LHS platform.

The Associate/Manager will be expected to develop a “playbook” to standardize and simplify the integration of acquired companies and will be assist with implementing the playbook for each acquisition made.  The Associate/Manager will also take an active role in leading partnership efforts with third-party vendors/companies to potentially add RMR and other revenue streams that LHS does not plan on making an in-house offering (security and monitoring, PERS, etc.).  This position may also be called upon to assist with potential IPO preparation, including preparation of financial models, projections and other matters directed by the CFO.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Acquisition Screening and Identification. Lead identification and initial screening of possible M&A targets with Gridiron Capital, the CFO, COO and relevant Division Presidents. The candidate will work with executive team members to identify targets and work with banks / buy-side brokers and directly through LHS’s network to source acquisition candidates.
  • Manage the M&A Process – Work collaboratively with executive team and Gridiron Capital to manage the M&A process on behalf of LHS.  Key tasks include development and implementation of M&A playbook, executive team and board reporting, diligence, financing support, coordination and communication with target, and development of post-close integration and strategy plans.
  • Manage the Integration Process – Lead a cross-functional team to successfully integrate targets from an operational, sales and marketing, financial, strategy, IT, and human resources perspective.  This will involve development and execution of 100 days plans with key milestones and synergy targets and a regular cadence of reporting progress to the executive leadership team and board.
  • Identify and Execute on Partnership Opportunities – The Associate/Manager will work with the executive team to identify revenue-driving partnerships with outside companies in areas that LHS finds attractive to generate additional revenue and profitability streams. Partnerships include the addition of RMR streams in connection with services sold through existing verticals as well as identification of these new services and potential partnership companies.
  • Facilitate and Support IPO Preparation – The position may be called upon to support the finance team and sponsor with IPO preparation as needed, particularly around crafting the story and developing proof points around diversification and M&A strategy.
  • Foster a Collaborative and High-Performance Culture – The Associate/Manager will need to work effectively within the Company’s high-performance “TNT” culture and will need to work collaboratively and effectively across all functional teams. 
  • Work Closely with the Private Equity Sponsor – The Associate/Manager will gain significant exposure to, and will work closely with, Gridiron Capital who actively supports the capital markets and M&A strategies of LHS. The Director will interface regularly with a dedicated Gridiron Capital team to execute objectives and will be able to learn from Gridiron during his or her career progression.


Experience and Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • 2-5 years of experience planning, developing, and managing acquisition processes
  • Working understanding of legal contracts, documents, transaction terms, negotiation and deal closing proceedings
  • Excellent communication ability to interface with potential targets/partners and third-party banks/brokers while keeping the executive team updated in a succinct and timely manner. 
  • Ability to juggle various work activities and shift their attention from one task to another to meet the demands of different stakeholders without “dropping the ball”.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy, team-oriented environment and have a “roll up your sleeves” and “today not tomorrow” mentality.
  • Apply active listening skills through the ability to comprehend information presented and respond thoughtfully.
  • Detail-oriented and can focus on the task at hand, no matter how minute, by finding the most efficient and effective pathway to completion.
  • Ability to logically connect ideas, scrutinize and evaluate arguments, find inconsistencies and errors in work, solve complex problems, and engage in reflection.
  • Ability to provide timely and empathetic help through in-person, phone, email, and social media avenues that keeps the co-worker or customer’s needs at the forefront of every interaction.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, to recognize, understand, and manage one’s own emotions as well as others, and foster positive working relationships across all levels of the organization.
  • Holding oneself responsible and being self-driven in accomplishing business goals, adhering to policies and being responsible for one’s own actions, performance, and decisions.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and/or Access).
  • Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).


Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities or Certifications

  • Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance or related fields
  • MBA a plus but not required
  • 2-5 years of some combination of investment banking, private equity, corporate development and/or M&A diligence and integration experience

Travel Requirements

  • Occasional overnight travel required

  • Normal Office Environment
  • Indoor work in a climate-controlled environment.
  • Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.
