Position Summary:

+ Builds and strengthens Signet's corporate reputation by developing and executing a corporate communications strategy that drives global growth, while championing Signet's purpose.

+ Leads an integrated and outcomes-oriented thought leadership strategy for the company by creating strong messaging and external followership across lay, business and trade media, digital channels, community organizations, industry thought leaders, etc.

+ Acts as a trusted adviser to corporate leaders to align strategic messaging internally and externally.

+ Drives a narrative that synthesizes Signet's purpose with dynamic trends in the industry and financial markets. Effectively positions the company through corporate messaging that clearly enhances Signet's global growth.

+ Creates editorial calendars to champion Signet's mission and reputation, as well as further inspire employee engagement through knowledge and understanding of the company's results.

+ Creates an integrated communications and content planning calendar, supporting the Chief Communications Officer in resource planning and continuous improvement in return on investments, and engagement metrics.

+ Learn industry related affiliations, and support production of content so feature Signet's "Leading with Love" ESG strategy, in support of our VP of ESG.

+ Support the EVP of field operations in bringing to life "Project Energy," working with the head of Learning and Development to drive purpose-inspired behaviors in our customer facing teams, and measure brand desirability with the goal to bring our purpose to life.

Major Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

+ Accountable to develop, implement and lead a high-impact communication strategy that builds the corporate reputation, raises the visibility of the senior leadership team through various media, and leads to clear business outcomes, in support of the company's growth and in alignment with its purpose, passion, and promise.

+ Creates a compelling and integrated communication plan for the corporation including partnering with our CEO speechwriter to create a multi-stakeholder narrative that synthesizes Signet's role in our industry, our purpose, our business strategy and our leadership.

+ Builds a narrative around Signet's unique and innovative culture, to attract and retain talent, in partnership with our Director of Internal Communications, support our launch of our intranet and employee experience.

+ Develop and serve as "editor in chief" for a wide variety of communications content for communication channels to reach target audiences. In collaboration with the Investor Relations, Marketing, and Internal Communications teams, optimize message alignment to ensure that corporate communications activities accelerate growth and strengthen the company brand.

+ Lead the development of communication strategies and materials for projects including the Signet Love Index, corporate social responsibility, corporate media relations events and presentations, relevant business development activities, and other corporate initiatives as required.

+ Discover and optimize opportunities/campaigns/awards/sponsorships to position and strengthen the reputation of Signet. Prepare talking points, presentations, and other material as needed.

+ Develop proactive and reactive communications strategies to address issues that could impact the company's reputation.

+ Serve as communications coach and counsel to executives and others as needed to prepare them as spokespeople for delivering consistent messaging and themes aligned with company positioning and strategic goals.

+ Supervise one manager of corporate communications and freelancers or agencies as needed. Manage/optimize value of external agency and relevant vendor relationships and associated budgets.

Position Qualifications:

Education required: Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Business, Communications, Public Relations or related field required. Masters' degree in Communications or MBA preferred.

Required or Acceptable Job-Related Experience: 15+ years of proven communications experience in corporate/executive communications.

Job-Related Experience Required: Demonstrated ability to deliver high impact strategic external communication plans and results. Expert knowledge of multi-media communications platforms.

Excellent writer and detail-oriented editor with knowledge of journalistic style. Accomplished communicator and presenter with a track record of success and exceptional business partnering. Well versed in managing complex issues and multiple priorities with sound judgment and adaptability, working at all levels and across geographies.

Technical/Other Skills Required: Prior experience within a global and publicly traded company preferred. Media, Consumer and Retail industry experience preferred. Collaborative partner with keen ability to build trust and credibility, effectively listen, influence thinking, forge relationships, build consensus and drive results.
