**JOB DESCRIPTION**

Bridgestone Americas, Inc. is the U.S. subsidiary of Bridgestone Corporation, the world's largest tire and rubber company. Bridgestone Americas and its subsidiaries develop, manufacture and market a wide range of Bridgestone, Firestone and associate brand tires to address the needs of a broad range of customers, including consumers, automotive and Consumer vehicle original equipment manufacturers, and those in the agricultural, forestry and mining industries. Bridgestone Americas Technical Center, located in Akron, Ohio, is Bridgestone's state-of-the-art Research and Development complex supporting Bridgestone's North America Tire Operations with new product development, materials research, and leading-edge innovation.

The Finance Director, ATC is a key financial business partner to the Chief Technical Office and the entire ATC Staff. This role will have 3 direct reports and lead a team of ~10-13 employees for all financial processes and analytical activities to ensure continued profitable and sustainable growth of the businesses. This role will report to the Vice President Finance, Operations and R&D. This role will have ownership of influencing and operationalizing short to mid-term execution of functional strategy and the operational direction of the finance team. Problems faced are often complex and require extensive investigation and analysis, along with the ability to influence decisions across a matrixed organization. The successful candidate requires ability to influence others to accept practices and approaches, and ability to communicate and influence executive leadership.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**

+ Serve as a strategic business partner to the ATC team and the Chief Technical Officer.

+ Participate as a key member of the business unit leadership team and Finance function in the development of the strategic plans and ensure business plans are aligned with the overall BASM goals. Specifically, ownership of short to mid-term (1-3+ years) execution of functional strategy and the operational direction of the Department.

+ Key contributor in the Integrated Business Planning process in concert with the business unit leadership team. Oversee the implementation of decisions impacting ATC to ensure maximum goal attainment.

+ Collaboratively evaluate opportunities for business growth as well as cost control.

+ Own the Risk and Opportunities forecast, proactively identify opportunities and risks to the plan and collaborate with cross-functional team to close gaps or exceed targets.

+ Lead the budget and forecasting processes.

+ Develop, consolidate, and analyze month-end financial reporting providing Executive level insight along with impactful recommended business actions to achieve business goals.

+ Develop Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reporting, determine insights, and distribute to the organization.

+ Drive process and system improvements (i.e. leverage of Shared Services)

+ Execute accurate financial reporting and lead internal controls, consistent with internal policies as well as regulatory and control requirements (GAAP & IFRS).

+ Ensure financial results are reported accurately and timing and in accordance with established policies.

+ Drive process and program cost accounting standardization.

+ Coach, mentor, and develop your team as well as other business talent.

+ Requires ability to influence others to accept practices and approaches, and ability to communicate and influence executive leadership.

**QUALIFICATIONS**

**Qualifications**

+ Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting

+ 10 years of progressively responsible work experience in Finance

+ 5-7 years minimum managerial experience

+ Experience with conducting complex product costing

+ Experience with S&OP process, capacity planning, capital investment, etc.

+ Experience operationalizing control frameworks (i.e. IFRS, US GAAP experience)

**Preferred**

+ Advanced degree and/or advanced certification in in Finance related field preferred (MBA, MFA, CPA, etc.)

+ Experience working in a plant environment
