In close partnership with others, the Strategy Senior Manager will:

  • Be a thought partner in driving goalsetting across all three dimensions of sustainable value - economic, environmental and social
  • Support and manage the enterprise processes to develop, measure, communicate, and evolve enterprise strategy near term, mid-range, and longer term
  • Meaningfully contribute to the strategies themselves as well as the identification of new opportunities
  • Ensure that enterprise and business strategic plans evolve as new information is learned and market dynamics change

S/he will report to the Vice President of Enterprise Strategy.

The ideal candidate will have significant experience in a top-tier consulting firm and/or experience in developing and influencing strategies and outcomes at an operating company. S/he will have managed teams in fast-paced environments, excellent problem solving and analytic skills, and a clear strength in not only being able to solve a problem but also to effectively communicate ideas and convince others to act. S/he will have a demonstrated track record of identifying, assessing, and driving to execution opportunities that result in meaningful impact for the business. Role Objective

Support the enterprise processes to develop, integrate, communicate, and manage strategic work across the organization and over the course of the year. Meaningfully contribute to the strategies themselves as well as the identification of new opportunities. Ensure that enterprise and business strategic plans evolve as new information is learned and market dynamics change.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Support and contribute to Strategic Management System (SMS) of activities to define, manage, and enrich strategy across the enterprise and over the course of the year

Provide research, strategy, process support, and follow-up for Operational Review Process, Annual Strategy Retreat, and Strategic Management System Kickoff among other SMS responsibilities

Support and contribute to Enterprise goal setting; manage tracking of performance against plan for key initiatives

Partner with GOJO functions to improve approaches and processes for Businesses and VRs; ensure ties to budget; ensure alignment with Enterprise Strategy

Help drive effective, efficient, whole-systems dialogue and decision-making through coordination and collaboration

Directly lead a subset of highest priority strategic projects for the organization

Play ongoing role on project teams driving strategic initiatives

Lead identification, assessment, and business case development of new opportunities

Track, monitor, synthesize and report industry and competitor events, trends, and financial analysis as input into Enterprise insight and strategy development

Develop and support communications efforts with both internal and external stakeholders to communicate strategy, share aspirations, and report on achievements

Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree required. Master of Business Administration preferred

5-10 years of experience working in a fast-paced environment, balancing multiple priorities and deliverables

Experience at a top tier management consulting firm preferred

Significant business experience including multiple market segment and commercial distribution experience a plus

Strategic thinker with demonstrated ability to generate insights, craft a vision, and then convince others to act

Strong problem-solving skills with an emphasis on problem structuring and framing, critical thinking, and root cause analysis required

Excellent analytic skills combined with ability to synthesize diverse inputs into meaningful insights; comfort with quantitative and financial data

Experience with new business case development a plus

Outstanding written and verbal communication skills; ability to convey complex ideas in clear and concise manner

Strong team builder and cross functional boundary spanner; ability to influence, challenge, and drive consensus across the organization and at multiple levels

Demonstrated experience leading projects with accountability for results on cross-functional teams

Demonstrated entrepreneurial spirit with a passion for ideas

Courage and conviction to drive actions that are best for the long-term health of the organization, rather than those which are easy or politically expedient

Demonstrated tenacity; i.e. experience trying multiple approaches to get to the right answer

Supervision/Coordination

Reports directly to the Vice President of Enterprise Strategy. Works closely with senior leaders, project teams, and other workgroup leaders and staff members. Part of SMS workgroup. Influence of employees who do not report to this individual is critical.

Travel Requirements

Overnight Travel - sporadic - required.
