Engineering & Science Position Summary
Design, develop, and launch next-generation digital technologies for Bridgestone. Join us in a collaborative and hands-on team environment that fosters engineering excellence, creativity, and innovation with a focus on automotive and mobility electronics. We are looking for an Automotive Software Technical Specialist with strong project management skills, to develop tire-centric digital solutions and the integration with vehicle platforms. This position requires deep knowledge of automotive systems and software, strong problem-solving skills, tenacity and talent, sense of urgency and team work with internal and external partners. The ideal candidate has experience guiding the development of software for automotive systems such as ADAS, antilock braking systems, electronic stability control, and other chassis control systems. The candidate has demonstrated experience using Agile methods in a professional development environment, working in global teams or with external partners, has a strong bias to action and strong interpersonal and communication skills. A Technical Specialist is a recognized master in a professional discipline typically obtained through advanced education and work experience. Responsibilities
Develop multiple types of software including end-user applications and operating systems/utility software that provides a platform for running end user applications.
Recommends strategic/operational plans for developing and implementing new products and processes
Determines method of requirements gathering and analysis to understand the domain of the software problem and/or functionality, the interfaces between hardware and software and the overall software characteristics
Supports software testing, deployment, maintenance, and evolution activities by correcting programming errors, responding to scope changes, and coding software enhancements
Integrate software components for solutions technologies with external and internal partners
Applies knowledge of software development best practices, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
Develop tire-centric solutions for use on platforms with limited processing power and memory
Support the development of IoT architecture to deploy algorithms to edge devices
Participate in defining engineering approaches and in planning and scheduling work
Integrate business knowledge and technical skills into specifications and technology development strategy.
Author regular technical communication for executive and cross-functional briefings
Work cross functionally within R&D, with Manufacturing, IT and business Strategy unit.
Follow established procedures and best practices
Support engineering activities including travel to manufacturing and customer sites Education and Key qualification
B.S. or M.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related field, or industry experience equivalent.
8+ years experience in a product development role desired
3+ years of experience developing software to ISO 26262, ISO 21434, Automotive SPICE, and IATF 16949 standards.
3+ years of experience with AUTOSAR, C/C++, Linux, CAN, RTOS, and embedded software development experience.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and solid teamwork and leadership skills Minimum Qualifications
