Job Description Job Description My client is a family-owned precision machining company with over 100 years of experience in tool & die manufacturing and precision components. They're seeking an experienced Machinist to join their team. Key Responsibilities: Jig boring and jig grinding, operations on tooling, dies, and precision fixtures to tenths tolerance (0.0001"). Execute precision surface grinding operations with tolerances to /- 0.0002" and specified surface finishes. Select appropriate tooling, grinding wheels, work-holding methods and machining parameters. Read and interpret complex engineering drawings and blueprints. Perform precision measurements using micrometers, calipers, indicators, height gauges, and other inspection equipment. Maintain equipment, perform preventative maintenance, and ensure calibration standards. Follow all safety protocols and properly use required personal protective equipment. Qualifications: Experience with using precision tools, machinery and equipment such as lathe, milling machine, drill press, hydraulic press, chop saw, band saw and a variety of cutting tools and equipment. Ability to use gauges and instruments, such as micrometers, calipers and dial indicators to take accurate measurements. Knowledge of tolerance, clearances and finishes. Excellent mathematical skills with analytical abilities. Ability to read blueprints, schematics and manuals. Ability to follow a job router to determine the sequence of operations and set up requirements.
