Job Description:
The Eastwood Event Centre -located in the Niles Ohio is
currently seeking an Executive Chef to join our -team who is
creative and proficient in all aspects of food preparation
The Executive Chef will plan and direct food preparation and
culinary activities and lead and oversee our culinary and kitchen
operations team while maintaining appropriate food and labor cost
margins.The Executive Chef provides strong leadership and fosters
the development of the culinary and utility staffs, is responsible
for developing menus, specifying product standards, controlling,
and maintaining food inventories, assuring smooth and safe
operations, and managing and adhering to all aspects of the
culinary budget.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Plan and direct food preparation and culinary activities.
- Create and seasonally update catering menus that meet high
quality and presentation standards.
- Supervise culinary and kitchen operations team and assign
duties and responsibilities to associates to ensure the accurate
and timely production of catering service.
- Ensure superior levels of performance and dependable, friendly
service to external and internal clients.
- Estimate nutritional data, food requirements, product costs,
and menu pricing.
- Inspect food quality, recipe consistency, and work areas to
ensure all quality, safety, and sanitation standards are adhered
to.
- Recruit, interview, hire, and train team members while
providing ongoing development for team members.
- Conduct performance reviews for all culinary and kitchen
associates.
- Coordinate equipment purchases, maintenance, and repairs.
- Order food and beverage product and supplies.
- Oversee the scheduling of the culinary and kitchen operations
team to ensure adequate staffing keeping within budget
restraints.
- Teach and ensure complete compliance with all food, safety and
physical standards and policies.
- Meet with clients as needed to assist the sales and operations
teams in showcasing offerings and ensuring total guest
satisfaction.
- Ensure all necessary reports and forms are completed as
scheduled and filed in accordance with standards.
- Review the production records during and after every meal to
ensure properly completion.
- Rectify problems and/or guest complaints. Maintain positive and
professional approach with coworkers and guests.
- Conduct monthly department meetings and departmental safety
programs.
- Perform administrative duties as needed.
- Maintain time and payroll records.
- Any additional functions required by upper management.
Physical Requirements:These physical demands represent the physical
requirements necessary for an associate to successfully perform the
essential functions of the position. Reasonable accommodation can

- Associate must be able to sit or stand in the same position for
up to 8 hours a day consecutively.
- Associate may have to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands,
climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
- Associate is often required to use his or her hands and fingers
to handle or feel.
- Vision abilities required by this job include close
vision.
- Associate must talk and hear.
- Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time.
- Must be able to exert well-paced ability to reach other
departments of the conference center on a timely basis.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
- Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking,
repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening, and hearing
ability and visual acuity.
Travel:Local and regional travel is required resulting in overnight
trips. This position requires the successful candidate to have a
valid - Driver's license. The successful candidate would have to
provide proof that s/he has a valid driver's license upon being
hired.
Qualifications, Education, Experience, Skills, and Abilities:
- Requires good communication skills, both verbal and
written.
- Extensive knowledge of culinary arts and the kitchen, its
services, facilities, and equipment.
- Experience in Italian cuisine strongly preferred.
- Must be detail oriented with outstanding organizational and
communication skills.
- Must possess excellent computational ability.
- Must possess basic computer skills.
- Must have excellent leadership capability and customer
relations skills.
- Must possess excellent teaching, coaching, and training
skills.
- Working knowledge of federal, state, and local laws governing

- Must be able to perform duties in extreme temperatures.
