registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1 years Stepdown RN
experience required. Applicants who do not meet these
qualifications will not be considered. This opportunity calls for a
skilled RN with experience in stepdown or progressive care nursing
to provide specialized care on a 33-bed PCU/Stepdown Unit
specializing in cardiac telemetry, vascular, and med-surg patients.
The unit cares for patients post catheterization and pacemaker
placement, managing complex lines, drains, and advanced airway
support without ventilators. The role is structured for experienced
nurses to deliver comprehensive patient assessment, care
coordination, and interdisciplinary collaboration focused on
high-quality patient outcomes. Key Responsibilities: Perform
initial and ongoing patient assessments to develop and implement
effective care plans. Administer medications safely and in
accordance with state practice and facility policies. Serve as a
liaison for patient care coordination across hospital departments.
Act as a patient advocate while collaborating with spiritual,
palliative, and ethics care teams. Manage acute care patients with
multi-system organ failure or trauma. Read and verify telemetry
strips once per shift using EPIC electronic health records. Educate
and orient nursing staff, delivering evidence-based care aligned
with professional practice models. Desired Experience and
Certifications: Minimum 2 years of RN experience, with progressive
care or stepdown unit preferred. Current RN license (state or
compact). Required: BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Certification;
Dysrhythmia Exam clearance required (study guide available).
Preferred: CCRN or PCCN certification. Experience with lines,
drains, advanced respiratory support (BiPAP, CPAP, high-flow
oxygen), conscious sedation, and hemodynamic monitoring. Schedule &
Contract Details: 12-hour PM shifts. Every other weekend and every
other holiday coverage. 13 to 16-week contract. Travel experience
not required; position does not accept local candidates. Location
