Job Description Job Description Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) Certification and minimum 2 years Surgical Tech / Operating Room Tech experience required. This opportunity calls for certified surgical technologists to serve as First Assist in the operating room, supporting surgeons through all phases of surgical care. This role requires a professional who is adept at sterile technique, anatomy, surgical procedures, and the use of specialized tools to facilitate efficient and safe surgeries. The position accommodates a contract assignment spanning approximately 13 weeks with a flexible day shift schedule. Key Responsibilities: Assist surgeons directly during operative procedures under their supervision. Collaborate with nurses, anesthesiologists, and CRNAs in patient care throughout preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative phases. Utilize expertise in sterile and aseptic techniques to maintain a safe surgical environment. Support surgical teams by preparing and handling instruments and technologies. Qualifications and Experience: Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program recognized by CAAHEP. Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification. Certified First Assistant credential through NBSTSA is mandatory. Minimum of 3 years experience in surgical technology or first assist role. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to be obtained within 30 days of hire. Disclosure of all relevant licenses at submission. Schedule: Monday through Friday, typically 8-hour shifts on day shift. Some on-call and weekend on-call responsibilities required. Potential for 4x10-hour day schedule based on facility needs.
