Apply now for this travel RN job in Wheeling, WV. /n/nJob Details/n /n - Location: Wheeling, West Virginia (26003) — West Virginia nursing jobs, travel nursing jobs/n - Assignment Type: Travel RN, On-site (13-week travel nursing assignment)/n - Unit: Intermediate Care Unit (IMU) – Cardiac Stepdown / Cardiac Telemetry/n - Start Date: March 1, 2026/n - End Date: May 31, 2026/n - Duration: 13 weeks/n - Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00pm – 7:00am); weekends as scheduled/n - Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week/n - Openings: 3 RN positions available/n - Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,020 – $2,130 (travel RN pay)/n - Charting System: Allscripts (Sunrise) — experience with electronic charting preferred/n - Scrub Color: Navy blue top & bottom, navy scrub jacket (no hoodies)/n /n/nJob Requirements / Qualifications/n /n - Active RN license (willing to wait for state RN license if needed) — Registered Nurse jobs welcome/n - Minimum 1 year recent acute care RN experience; Stepdown/IMU/Telemetry experience preferred (Telemetry RN experience highly valued)/n - Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required/n - Ability to read and interpret cardiac rhythm strips independently; strong telemetry monitoring skills/n - Competency in titrating cardiac drips: Amiodarone, Cardizem, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Labetalol, Nitro, Heparin (Lasix occasionally)/n - Unexpired driver’s license required at submission/n - Must disclose any licensing issues at time of submission/n - Travel nurse eligibility: must live outside a 50-mile radius from Wheeling, WV/n - Flexibility to float to Telemetry or Med-Surg units as needed/n /n/nKey Responsibilities/n /n - Provide safe, high-quality nursing care to intermediate-acuity cardiac patients (chest pain, CHF, arrhythmias, post-pacer, pre/post cath, Tikosyn therapy)/n - Continuously monitor and accurately interpret telemetry strips; escalate changes in patient condition according to protocol/n - Titrate and monitor cardiac drips per provider orders and unit protocols/n - Perform pre- and post-cath care, including radial band management and groin checks (no sheath pulling)/n - Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members: hospitalists, intensivists, respiratory therapists, pharmacy, and IV/PICC teams (in-house 24/7)/n - Float to Telemetry or Med-Surg as needed (typical ratios up to 1:6; rarely 1:7 in Med-Surg)/n - Document accurately and efficiently in Allscripts/Sunrise to support quality patient care/n - Adhere to unit policies for attendance, scheduling, and patient safety/n /n/nWhy You'll Love Wheeling, WV/n /n - Scenic Ohio Riverfront and parks ideal for outdoor recreation/n - Charming historic downtown with unique shops and restaurants/n - Welcoming community with rich cultural heritage — great work-life balance for travel nurses/n /n/nHow to Apply/n If you are a dedicated Registered Nurse with cardiac/stepdown or telemetry experience, apply today to advance your travel nursing career in Wheeling, WV.
