Job Description Clinical Staff / Ambulatory Pharmacist – Day
Shift Contract Location - State College, PA Shift: Day shift –
start times vary between 6:00 AM and 9:00 AM Includes weekend
coverage Contract - 13 Weeks Position Summary The Clinical Staff /
Ambulatory Pharmacist provides comprehensive patient care services
through inpatient pharmacy operations, including order entry and
verification, medication checking and dispensing, and other duties
that support the safe and effective use of medications. This role
may also rotate into ambulatory care services such as
anticoagulation clinic support, oncology services, or other
outpatient clinical areas as determined by leadership. The
pharmacist will participate in direct patient care activities
serving diverse patient populations, ranging from pediatrics to
geriatrics. Key Responsibilities Perform medication order review,
verification, and dispensing Ensure safe, accurate, and timely
medication distribution Support clinical and patient care services
across inpatient and ambulatory settings Collaborate with
pharmacists, technicians, providers, nurses, and other healthcare
professionals Participate in quality, safety, and clinical
initiatives as assigned Minimum Requirements Education Bachelor of
Science in Pharmacy – required Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) –
preferred Experience Recent hospital pharmacy experience –
preferred If rotating into ambulatory roles, pharmacy residency
experience – preferred Advanced practice certifications – preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of state and federal
laws governing the practice of pharmacy Strong communication and
teamwork skills Ability to work collaboratively with
multidisciplinary healthcare teams License / Certification Active
pharmacist license issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of
Pharmacy or eligibility for reciprocation in Pennsylvania within 90
days of hire If rotating into an anticoagulation clinic role:
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification in accordance with
American Heart Association standards (renewed every two years)
Supervision Receives minimal supervision from pharmacy leadership
