Job Description Job Description About the Role: The Physical
Therapist, PRN, plays a critical role in delivering high-quality
rehabilitative care to patients on an as-needed basis, ensuring
their physical recovery and functional improvement. This position
involves assessing patients' physical conditions, developing
personalized treatment plans, and implementing therapeutic
interventions to restore mobility, reduce pain, and prevent
disability. The therapist collaborates closely with physicians,
nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care and
optimize patient outcomes. Flexibility and adaptability are
essential, as the PRN role requires responding to fluctuating
patient volumes and varying clinical settings. Ultimately, the
Physical Therapist contributes to enhancing patients' quality of
life by promoting independence and physical well-being through
evidence-based practices. Minimum Qualifications: Licensed Physical
Therapist in the state of practice. Graduation from an accredited
physical therapy program with a degree in Physical Therapy (DPT
preferred). American Heart Association CPR certification. Strong
knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and therapeutic techniques.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a
flexible, PRN capacity. Must to able to lift 50lbs repetitively.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in acute care,
outpatient, or rehabilitation settings. Familiarity with electronic
medical records (EMR) systems. Additional certifications such as
Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) or Neurologic Clinical
Specialist (NCS). Strong interpersonal and communication skills to
effectively engage with diverse patient populations. Demonstrated
commitment to continuing education and professional development.
Responsibilities: Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients'
physical abilities and limitations to establish baseline function
and identify therapeutic goals. Develop and implement
individualized treatment plans utilizing therapeutic exercises,
manual therapy, and modalities to improve strength, flexibility,
and mobility. Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment
strategies accordingly to ensure optimal recovery and prevent
complications. Educate patients and their families on home exercise
programs, injury prevention, and strategies to maintain functional
gains. Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to
coordinate care, document patient progress, and participate in case
conferences as needed. Skills: The required skills enable the
Physical Therapist to accurately assess patient conditions and
design effective treatment plans tailored to individual needs.
Proficiency in therapeutic techniques and modalities is essential
for delivering interventions that promote healing and functional
improvement. Strong communication skills facilitate clear
instruction to patients and collaboration with healthcare team
members, ensuring cohesive care delivery. Preferred skills such as
EMR proficiency streamline documentation and enhance clinical
efficiency. Additionally, specialized certifications and experience
broaden the therapist's expertise, allowing for advanced patient
care and improved clinical outcomes.
