evidence-based treatment for individuals recovering from substance
use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions. As part of
Ascension Recovery Services , we are committed to clinical

patients and staff. We are seeking a certified Advanced Medication
Assistant (AMAP) to support safe, accurate medication
administration under licensed nursing supervision in our West
Virginia facility. This role is essential to patient safety,
continuity of care, and regulatory compliance. Position Summary The
Advanced Medication Assistant (AMAP) assists licensed nursing staff
with medication administration and related documentation in
accordance with West Virginia regulations , physician orders, and
facility policies. This role functions under RN or LPN delegation
and supervision and does not independently assess patients or make
clinical decisions. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Administer
medications as delegated by licensed nursing staff in compliance
with West Virginia AMAP scope of practice Follow the five rights of
medication administration at all times Accurately document
medication administration and observations in the electronic
medical record (EMR) Observe, report, and escalate medication side
effects, adverse reactions, or concerns to nursing staff
immediately Assist with medication inventory, storage, counts, and
controlled substance accountability as directed Provide respectful,
trauma-informed interactions with patients during medication passes
Maintain strict confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and 42 CFR
Part 2 Adhere to all facility policies, Joint Commission standards,
and state regulatory requirements Participate in required
trainings, competencies, audits, and quality improvement activities
Maintain professional boundaries and collaborate effectively with
nursing, clinical, and recovery support teams
QualificationsRequired Current West Virginia Advanced Medication
Assistant (AMAP) certification in good standing High school diploma
or GED Ability to work under RN or LPN delegation and supervision
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal
instructions Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and
credential verification Preferred Experience in substance use
disorder treatment, behavioral health, or residential healthcare
Familiarity with EMR systems and medication documentation CPR/First
Aid certification (or ability to obtain upon hire) Key Competencies

Schedule Residential treatment setting Shift-based work, including
evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed Standing, walking,

individuals in early recovery and detox environments Compensation &
Benefits The base compensation range for this position is $X – $X .
This range reflects Ascension Recovery Services’ good faith
estimate at the time of this posting. Placement within the range
will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to
skills, experience, qualifications, location, and internal equity.
