Job Description Job Description About the Role: The PRN MRI Tech
at Wooster Community Hospital plays a critical role in delivering
high-quality diagnostic imaging services on an as-needed basis.
This position is responsible for operating magnetic resonance
imaging (MRI) equipment to capture detailed images of patients'
internal structures, aiding physicians in accurate diagnosis and
treatment planning. The role requires adherence to safety protocols
and patient care standards to ensure a safe and comfortable imaging
experience. The MRI Tech collaborates closely with radiologists,
technologists, and healthcare staff to maintain efficient workflow
and timely reporting. Ultimately, this position contributes
significantly to patient outcomes by providing precise and reliable
imaging data in a flexible, on-call capacity. Minimum
Qualifications: Current and valid MRI Technologist certification
(e.g., ARRT MRI certification). Completion of an accredited MRI
technology program. State licensure or certification as required by
Ohio regulations. Demonstrated knowledge of MRI safety protocols
and patient care standards. Ability to work flexible hours on a PRN
(as-needed) basis. Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in
a hospital or clinical setting, preferably in diagnostic imaging.
Familiarity with advanced MRI techniques and software applications.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or higher. Strong
interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with diverse
patient populations. Previous experience with electronic medical
records (EMR) systems. Responsibilities: Operate MRI equipment to
perform diagnostic imaging procedures according to established
protocols. Prepare patients for MRI exams by explaining procedures,
screening for contraindications, and positioning them correctly.
Monitor patient safety and comfort throughout the imaging process,
responding promptly to any concerns or emergencies. Maintain
accurate patient records and imaging documentation in compliance
with hospital policies and regulatory standards. Collaborate with
radiologists and healthcare team members to ensure high-quality
imaging and timely communication of results. Perform routine
maintenance and quality control checks on MRI equipment to ensure
optimal performance. Adhere strictly to radiation safety and
infection control guidelines to protect patients and staff. Skills:
The required skills enable the MRI Tech to operate complex imaging
machinery accurately and safely, ensuring high-quality diagnostic
images are produced. Patient communication skills are essential for
explaining procedures clearly and alleviating patient anxiety,
which enhances cooperation and image quality. Technical proficiency
in MRI protocols and safety standards ensures compliance with
healthcare regulations and minimizes risks. Preferred skills such
as familiarity with advanced imaging techniques and EMR systems
streamline workflow and improve diagnostic efficiency.
Additionally, interpersonal and teamwork skills facilitate
effective collaboration with radiologists and clinical staff,
