Registered Nurse (RN) | Intensive Care Unit (ICU) / Critical Care Location: Weirton, WV Agency: Mindlance Health Pay: $2,200 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: ASAP About the Position TravelNurseSource is working with Mindlance Health to find a qualified ICU/Critical Care RN in Weirton, West Virginia, 26062! ID: 75307018 Shift: 12H Nights 12 hr nights, weekends as scheduled Description: Unit Notes:50 mile radius rule - ALL SUBMISSIONS MUST INCLUDE A COPY OF CANDIDATE'S UNEXPIRED DRIVER'S LICENSELICENSING HITS MUST BE DISCLOSED AT TIME OF SUBMISSION- of Beds: 10- Ratios: 1:2-3 (1:5/6 when floated to IMC)- Required Certifications (i.e., BLS, ACLS?): BLS, ACLS, NIHSS- Common diagnoses/Types of patientsResp distress, post arrest, acute MI, balloon pumps, vents, anyone needing vasopressor support, not ICP monitoring - Experience or 'Must have' skills: \"Must have 3 years of ICU experience- Must have balloon pump experience- Must be comfortable with Vent management and drip titration\"- Are RNs required to titrate drips?: Yes- Common titratable &/or set rate drips: vasopressors, levo, neo, epi, nitro, heparin, angio, and more- Is there a Charge Nurse on each shift? Does the charge nurse take an assignment?Charge nurse, does take a full patient assignment - Are there nurse aids/patient care techs on this unit? Ratios? Duties?: Yes, not in house 24/7, typically schedule from midnight- 7 PM. - Hospitalist &/or Intensivist in house 24/7? In the ICU 24/7?: No, on-call at night, noturnist available for entire hospital at night- RT available 24/7?: Yes, Assigned to multiple units- RT Equipment (Vents, Cpap, BiPap, High Flow, etc.): Are RNs required to do anything with these besides trouble shoot?RT will administer breathing tx and manage all resp equipment (Vents, trachs, bipap, cpap, airvo); nurses are expected to be able to troubleshoot equipment appropriate - Are there Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit? Are RNs required to read their own strips? What brand are the tele monitors?: None, Nurses must read and interpret tele - Shifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling? Block scheduling?): \"RN 7-7, 6:45- 7:15 for days- 4 week schedule that staff are allowed to make an ideal schedule, nothing finalized until the schedule as been\"- Weekend Requirements: EOW- Holiday Requirements: May be asked to go in the Holiday Rotation- Is there a call or standby requirement?: No- Floating RequirementsTravelers can float to any inpatient unit, travelers are first to float - Scrub Color/Dress Code: Navy Blue - How many shifts of unit/department specific orientation?: 1 Day General Orientation, 1 day with a preceptor - Additional Notes: This is not a closed unit; primary physicians manage the care (not a direct intensivist), Cancellation may cancel 2 shifts per 13-week assignment and 1 shift for assignments less than 13 weeks Charting BSN License to Trauma Level: Care Shift Notes:12 hr nights, weekends as scheduled Required , BLS Certification, NIHSS Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Contract Weeks:91 5 Benefits of Travel Nursing Change environments regularly to prevent burnout, maintaining enthusiasm and passion for your nursing career.
