our patients as family. In the 26-bed 6400 Behavioral Health Unit
at Akron General, caregivers progressively involve patients in
their care plans, allowing them to work toward an increased
self-responsibility and independence. Through medication and
various therapies, they learn to rebuild their ability to fulfill
daily living activities and cope with challenges. As Assistant
Nurse Manager, you will support the nurse manager by providing
clinical supervision and unit coordination. This position offers a
great way to gain extensive leadership experience while continuing
to provide the best support and treatment possible. A caregiver in
this position works days 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. with on-call
requirements. A caregiver who excels in this role will: -
Interview, hire and train staff; provide input into performance
evaluations and provide feedback. - Make personnel action
recommendations (e.g., promotions, transfers, disciplinary,
discharge). - Provide direction and support to the unit staff and
supervises admissions, conducts assessment of patient's needs, and
initiates nursing care plans. - Evaluate and document patient
progress. - Facilitate the planning, implementation, development
and evaluation of nursing programs, initiative and objective for
the unit. - Assist with the development and implementation of
policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective delivery
of health services in a unit. - Serve as a liaison between the
manager, staff and other areas within the organization. - Identify
and resolve issues affecting the delivery of patient care services
in a unit. - Prepare schedule of work assignments assuring adequate
coverage. - Participate in and supports quality improvement
projects, outcomes studies and research initiatives. - Participate
in departments and committees as assigned. - Assist with providing
continuing education and in-service educational programs for
caregivers. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver
include: - Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) - Graduate of an
accredited school of professional nursing - RN license in the state
of Ohio - Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the
American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross - Two years
of recent clinical nurse experience - Strong demonstrated clinical
knowledge and skills (oral, written, interpersonal, analytical and
organization) Preferred qualifications for the ideal future
caregiver include: - Behavioral Health experience - Escalation
experience Physical Requirements: - Requires full range of body
motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger
dexterity, and eye-hand coordination. Requires standing and walking
for extended periods of time. Requires corrected vision and hearing
to normal range. - Requires working under stressful conditions and
irregular hours. Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body
fluids. - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force
occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or
greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move
objects. - Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for
Light Work. Personal Protective Equipment: - Follows Standard
Precautions using personal protective equipment as required. Pay
Range Minimum Annual Salary: $76,540.00 Maximum Annual Salary:
$116,747.50 The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects
the anticipated range for new hires. A successful candidate’s
actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into
consideration such as the candidate’s work history, experience,
skill set and education. The pay range displayed does not include
any applicable pay practices (e.g., shift differentials, overtime,
etc.). The pay range does not include the value of Cleveland
Clinic’s benefits package (e.g., healthcare, dental and vision
benefits, retirement savings account contributions, etc.).
