Nurse Navigator (ONN) is a professional registered nurse with
oncology-specific clinical knowledge who offers individualized
assistance to patients, families, and caregivers to identify and
help overcome healthcare system barriers. Utilizing the nursing
process, an oncology nurse navigator provides resources and
education to facilitate informed decision-making and timely access
to quality health, psychosocial, supportive, and survivorship care
throughout all phases of the cancer care con¬tinuum. The ONN will
work collaboratively with the health care team to assess, plan,
facilitate, track, and monitor patients with cancer. The ONN works
closely with the patient/family; makes appropriate referrals to
meet the patient’s individual, cultural, spiritual needs, and
monitors and evaluates services provided. Formal Education
Required: a. Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN) - Master’s
degree preferred b. Graduate of a program of professional nursing
that is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing
Education (CCNE) or Accreditation Commission for Education in
Nursing (ACEN) c. Current license to practice registered nursing in
the State of Ohio d. Certification in Navigation will be required
within a time frame- coordinated with manager 2. Experience and
training required: a. Five years of nursing experience or three
years’ experience in oncology 3. Other Skills, Competencies, and
Qualifications: a. Excellent communication ( verbal and written)
and presentation skills b. Ability to act independently, problem
solve and engage in critical thinking c. Ability to work as a
member of an interdisciplinary team and provide leadership, shared
knowledge, and expertise for advancing the navigational role and
developing collegial relationships both internally and externally
with providers and community. d. Ability to apply principles of
nursing theory and practice to assess, plan, implement and evaluate
oncology care. e. Strong organizational skills f. Demonstrates
effective communication and listening skills g. Ability to
prioritize and reprioritize quickly h. Basic computer skills i.
Adheres to regulations for patients information and privacy 4.
Level of Physical Demands: a. Sedentary: b. Exerts up to ten pounds
of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force

- $50.99/hr The salary range on this job posting/advertising is
base salary exclusive of any bonuses or differentials. Many
factors, such as years of relevant experience and geographical
location are considered when determining the starting rate of pay.
