Job Description:
The pay rate for this position is $19.00/hour. Hourly wage is
based on experience and geographical location. Travel time and
mileage is fully reimbursable.Field Interviewers are responsible
forMaking in-person contact with selected respondents to discuss
the study, answer questions and obtain participationCollecting
confidential information and administering standardized
questionnairesIndependently managing administrative duties,
including participating in conference calls and completing online
trainingsAnswering questions and obtaining participationMaintaining
a variable work schedule, as dictated by case
requirements.Periodically, participate in on-the-job training with
field supervisor (FS) during data collection, as needed.Maintaining
regular access to a reliable wireless internet connection in your
home for project work Meeting weekly with supervisor via ZoomWhen
working in the field, must be willing to agree to any COVID-19
related protocols put in place by RTI. These could include, among
others, wearing face coverings or respiratory protection, and
completing a Workplace Health Pledge. All safety supplies required
for use on the project will be provided by RTIAdd Health is a
national study conducted by the Carolina Population Center (CPC) at
the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and funded by the
National Institute of Aging (NIA), the National Institute of Child
Health and Human Development (NICHD), the National Institute of
Drug Abuse (NIDA), the National Institute on Minority Health and
Health Disparities (NIMHD), and the Office of the Director,
National Institutes of Health (OD/NIH). Add Health has been
gathering data about a group of young people who were first
interviewed as teenagers in 1994 and 1995 and have been followed
for nearly 30 years. We are attempting to contact sample members
who participated in 1994 and 1995 to interview them again. The full
name of the study is the National Longitudinal Study of Adolescent
to Adult Health. Add Health Wave VI is being conducted to
understand the life course exposures for health disparities and
health among early midlife Americans, including cognitive,
physical, and sensory functioning, substance use/abuse, mental
health, and cardiometabolic health and well-being. If you're

respondents are available and be comfortable working a consistent,

QualificationsMust possess high school diploma or GEDMust be at
least 21 years old at time of employmentPossess effective
communication skills through speech and listening, and fluency in
English through reading, writing, and speakingAvailable for entire
training and data collection periodAble to successfully complete
trainingMust have a valid driver's license and reliable personal
automobile available for business useAble to keep project
information confidential.Must be comfortable asking survey
questions on personally sensitive subject mattersMust be willing to
work evenings and weekends on a weekly and regular basis with
occasional daytime hours on weekdays.Must be able to adjust
schedule to meet respondents when they are availablePreferred
Qualifications for Ideal CandidatesPrior experience working on Add
Health or on other surveys that involved interviewing individuals
about personally sensitive subject mattersPositive, self-motivated,
curious, and enjoy interacting with people from culturally diverse
backgroundsEffective time, schedule, and workload management skills
to meet set deadlinesComputer skills, namely email and internet
proficiencyAccess to password-protected Wi-Fi connection for data
transmissions and administrative responsibilitiesThe data
collection period is expected to be July, 2023 through September,
2023.On average, you will be needed part time, approximately 25
hours per week when work is available.On average, you should be
available to work in the field 4 days each week.The majority of
this work is anticipated to be during evenings and weekends.Each of
your trips to the field are expected to be at least 4 hours
longMajor Training Requirements: Complete self-study prior to
attending training.Travel to, attend, and successfully complete a
mandatory 5-day FI training (2 days remote and 3 days in-person),
scheduled for late June, 2023, in Research Triangle Park, North
Carolina.Periodically, participate in on-the-job training with
field supervisor (FS) during data collection, as needed.Akron, OH,
