JOB CODE: (560921) Tech/Operating Room Surgical Tech (part time) LOCATION: Summit County (OH) This is a PART TIME position: 24 hours per week: Saturday and Sunday from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM; Holiday call required. Must be within 30 minutes to campus during on-call hours or be willing to stay on-site in on-call room. The Certified Surgical OR Tech is responsible for scrubbing on all major and minor surgical procedures as assigned. Responsibilities: Responsible for scrubbing on all major and minor surgical procedures as assigned. Participates with patient assessments while planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care. Performs circulating duties under direct supervision of a Registered Nurse to provide care and safety to all patients. Responsible for maintaining operating room suite supplies, pulling procedures, assisting with continuing education, precepting, and orientation of all staff. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care for the physical, psych/social, educational, and safety needs of the patients served regardless of age. Participates in various hospital activities as appropriate and as directed by the Manager. Other duties as required. QUALIFICATIONS: Experience in pediatric surgery is preferred Experience working with all levels within an organization is preferred Experience in healthcare is preferred Proficiency in MS Office [Outlook, Excel, Word] or similar software is required High School Diploma or equivalent is required; graduate from an accredited Surgical Technologist program is required Certified Surgical Technician (CST) and Basic Life Support (BLS) are required 0 to 2 years of experience is preferred The above statements reflect the general duties considered necessary to describe the principal functions of the job as identified and shall not be considered as a detailed description of all the work requirements that may be inherent in the position.
