Job Summary:

• Collects assessment data for assigned patients, including physical and psychological aspects.
• Documents patient vitals and nursing care given in accordance with CFM policies and protocol for nursing standards.
• Provides and assists other health care team members with patient care, education and other patient related activities, while facilitating patient flow. Assists with office procedures.
• Administers and documents medications given.
• Accurately documents nursing interventions and patient's responses in accordance with AGMC/CFM policy.
• Demonstrates satisfactory performance for established and new routines, procedures and skills.
• Demonstrates flexibility regarding work and assignment changes as individual patient and/or physician needs arise.
• Maintains a safe and comfortable working environment.
• Stocks and organizes supplies in the exam rooms and keeps work area neat and clean.
• Maintains monthly cleaning schedule.
• Functions in a calm manner during emergency and crisis situations.
• Annually reviews and follows laboratory policies and procedures in compliance with CLIA regulations.
• Performs quality controls and proficiency testing as required.
• Assists in orientation of nurses and other hospital personnel.
• Understands emergency procedures, fire drills, evacuation and internal/external disaster plans and procedures.
• Attends inservices and continuing education as appropriate to job performed and required by CFM and/or AGMC.
• Participates in clinical instruction programs to provide a learning experience for the residents.
• Demonstrates professional behavior that reflects positively upon the Medical Center.
• Treats patients with respect, dignity and compassion.
• Processes phone calls regarding patients' medical problems, drug refills, medication changes, etc.
• Follows hospital and department policies and procedures with special attention to attendance and punctuality, confidentiality, dress code and display of ID badge, and safety.
• Completes mandatory education and training in order to maintain organization and department specific competencies and requirements. Maintains applicable certification/licensure.
• Other duties as assignedEducation:
  • Graduate from an accredited school of practical nursing.Certifications:
    • Currently licensed as a practical nurse in the State of Ohio.Complexity of Work:
      • Maintains competencies specific to patient population served.
      • Satisfactorily completes annual competency testing.Work Experience:
        • Prior physician office or ambulatory care experience required.
        • Prior experience assisting with office procedures (sigmoidoscopy pelvic exam colposcopy joint aspirations injections etc).
        • Previous experience with Electronic Medical Record and Practice Management System preferred.Physical Requirements:Personal Protective Equipment:
