Job Description Job Description SMS Mill Services, LLC is a leader in the steel mill services industry prioritizing recycling and environmental/workers ’ safety and handling all operations with integrity. SMS is seeking a highly skilled and safety-focused Lubrication Technician for its Mill Services site in Mingo Junction, Ohio. This is a 24/7 operation; located on steel mill property. This is a NIGHTS only position Responsibilities: Draining the oil from a heavy equipment and replacing it to manufacturer specifications Topping off other fluids, including brake, power steering and windshield wiper fluid Inspecting the engine block and underbody for leaks and potential issues Checking tire pressure and filling tires with air as needed to manufacturer specifications Installing new parts, such as air filters, oil filters, windshield wipers and batteries Lubricating moving parts as necessary, including those in the engine and wheel bearings and ensuring the engine is kept clean throughout servicing Diagnosing existing issues and consulting with lead mechanics on the team to address the equipment issues Creating detailed service reports Qualifications: An aptitude for mechanical diagnosis and repair Demonstrated experience with servicing vehicles A valid drivers license and the ability to work legally in the US Passing a drug screening and criminal background check Time management and organizational skills as well as hand-eye coordination Effective communication and customer service skills The ability to read and follow complex directions in manuals as well as relay information in reports The physical ability to perform all tasks related to the position of Lube Technician, such as bending and reaching, standing for long periods of time and lifting over 60 pounds Safety: Adhere to all local, state, OSHA, environmental and site-specific regulations. Perform and document daily safety checks, follow all safety rules, wear PPE, provide a safe environment for all employees and visitors.
