About the Opportunity
This is an open position with FirstEnergy Service Co., -a
subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp. [FEU]
This individual will be responsible for supporting Power Network
Analysis within the Transmission Operations Services
This position can be located in Akron, OH or Fairmont, WV.
Maintaining, enhancing, and accurately resolving -real-time issues
of the Network analysis system within the Real-time Energy
Management System (EMS).
Reviewing and updating -SCADA equipment capabilities and ICCP
Performing and aiding in performing studies relating to the
operation of FE Transmission system.
Interfacing -with Transmission Planning and Protection in
preparation of seasonal assessment studies and network model
Coordinating -data changes for new equipment energization such as
limit updates and topology changes.
Working with External personnel to coordinate joint Network model
Working closely with internal staff to support compliance
Preparing -technical reports, summaries, and make presentations
Demonstrating -a solid commitment to all aspects of safety.
Supporting real-time Operations during off-hours as part of callout
Actively seeking formal and informal learning opportunities to
better understand departmental procedures.
Bachelor's of Science degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) from
an ABET accredited institution is required. - In lieu of a degree,
a Professional Engineer's (PE) License is required.
A Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Certificate is preferred.
Minimum of 3 (three) years of Engineering experience is
Experience and knowledge of programming in Perl and/or Visual
Basics is preferred
Familiarity with either or all applications is preferred -
GE/Alstom Energy Management System (EMS), Positive Sequence Load
Flow (PSLF), Energy Delivery Outage Application (EDOA),
Transmission Line Loadability (TLL), System Operations Requests
(SOR), Transmission Adequacy & Reliability Assessment (TARA), PI
DataLink, HABDDE/HABExplorer, Primavera Unifier, QlikView
