TITLE

Co-op, Packaging Development Engineer

LOCATION

Orrville, OH (Greater Cleveland area)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

* This position would be a co-op during 2021

* Supporting engineering projects for brands such as Smucker s , Folgers , Jif , Crisco , and Caf Bustelo

* Leverage state of the art Packaging Lab to enable data-based decision making through use of a variety of test methods

* Contribute to package sustainability goals by implementing source reduction/cost reduction on a variety of materials (i.e. HPDE, PET, glass, steel, and corrugated)

* Improve Production Line Reliability, Package Process Improvement and/or Consumer Experience with Package Format

* Prepare and present results of technical reports to business team, both written and oral

* Collaborate with technical peers and internal customers such as Purchasing, Marketing, Product Development, Operations, and Contract Manufacturing

* Maintaining packaging specifications, including Finished Package Specifications, Pallet Patterns, and Package Technical Drawings

* Improving technical expertise by completing projects and tasks within one of our many plants (most co-ops visit at least two plants)

SELECTION CRITERIA

Education

* Co-op students must be enrolled in a Packaging Engineering program (emphasis in food packaging is a plus but is not required)

Other

* Strong leadership and communication skills are needed

* Must be available for a co-op between January 2021 through August 2021.
