Job Description:
ACCEL Schools is hiring a highly qualified Title One Teacher at
Akron College Preparatory school located in Akron, Ohio that is
dedicated to providing a superior education for all students. We
are seeking teachers who are passionate and dedicated to bringing

learning and social-emotional development.Founded in 2014, ACCEL
Schools is a K-12 public charter school management organization
(CMO) across the United States. We manage a network of over 50
charter schools within Ohio and surrounding states. At Akron
College Preparatory, which is located in the historic Goodyear
factory building within the growing East End neighborhood of Akron.
Focusing on student attendance and academic achievement, the school
boasts the highest Performance Index score in a three-mile radius.
In addition to core subjects, Akron Prep teaches PE and hands-on
Art/Dance classes during the school day. The school offers a 1:1
Chromebook program to individualize student instruction as well as
tutoring, after-school, and summer programs. Families additionally
benefit from strong community partnerships including the Boys &
Girls Club, Family First Counseling, National Youth Advocate
Program, and local women's shelters.Responsibilities:
- Teach relevant Ohio standards in Reading and/or Mathematics to
students needing remediation or extra support
- Analyze data to determine what students may need small group
support
- Maintain accurate and complete records for each student
pertaining to students' progress and development
- Maintain Title One log to document all students assisted
- Assists with federal Title One program audits as needed
- Work directly with classroom teachers and other staff members
to improve student learning and achievement
- Prepare and deliver lesson plans for the students you
support
- Participate, as required in RTI or other meetings where
students' academic needs are discussed and planned for
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all
students
- Utilize research-based best practices in daily planning and
instruction
- Create a positive environment for students to learn in
- Utilize school approved curricula that reflects the diverse
educational, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds of the
students
- Implement school-wide culture expectations and norms
- Communicate and meet with families regarding the academic and
social-emotional growth of their child
- Incorporate technology skills into daily classroom practice to
support learning
- Participate in the planning and implementation of
non-instructional activities, as needed
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with colleagues
- Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications:
- Active and current state teaching license in appropriate
content area
- Bachelor's degree in education or related field
- High level of comfort working in a growth-focused coaching
environment based on frequent observations, debriefs, action
planning, and progress monitoring
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; data
analysis skills
- Ability to properly manage confidential information
- Able to supervise students of various ages in different school
settings (playground, cafeteria, etc.)
- Ability to pass federal and state criminal background
checks
