Job Description:
Interstate Waste Services, a leader in the non-hazardous waste
management industry in the Northeast U.S., is seeking a Director of
Maintenance - Landfill Operations. This executive role is crucial
for overseeing the maintenance strategies, programs, and team
management within our landfill operations. The successful candidate
will ensure that all maintenance activities are in compliance with
environmental policies and safety standards, maximizing operational
effectiveness and minimizing costs. Develop and implement
comprehensive maintenance strategies that align with organizational
goals. Lead, manage, and develop a team of maintenance
professionals, ensuring a high level of employee engagement and
performance. Oversee the maintenance of landfill machinery,
systems, and other equipment to ensure operational reliability and
efficiency. Collaborate with other department heads to optimize
operations and address any operational challenges. Prepare and
manage the maintenance budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness and
resource optimization. Ensure compliance with all environmental
laws, regulations, and company policies. Implement sustainable
practices and innovations in landfill maintenance operations.
Regularly report to senior management on maintenance status and
progress of strategic initiatives. Proven expertise in maintenance
management and operations within the landfill or waste management
sector. Strong leadership and people management skills. Excellent
project management skills, with ability to manage large-scale
maintenance projects. Proficient in the use of maintenance
management software. Knowledge of applicable environmental
regulations and safety standards for landfill operations. Medical
Insurance 401k Certified Maintenance Manager (CMM) preferred.
Professional Engineer (PE) license is advantageous.
