The real bonus: working with an awesome team you can call friends.OverviewThe Staff Accountant is a key member of the Business Advisory Services group, serving privately-held businesses in NE Ohio. This individual performs most engagements with supervision from a Senior Accountant or Supervisor. The Staff Accountant is tasked with providing outstanding client service to our Business clients.Duties & ResponsibilitiesParticipating in review and compilation engagements from planning through issuanceCoordinating with clients to obtain required accounting materialsAssisting in the preparation of financial statements and notes to the financial statementsPreparing projects/engagements on time and within budgetPerforming book closing work and general ledger reconciliations; bank and account reconciliationsPreparing quarterly and annual payroll tax returnsPreparing journal entries and month-end financial statementsPreparing general correspondence and reportsApplying strong accounting and bookkeeping skills, including knowledge of book vs. tax, depreciation, accrual, pre-paid, and revenue recognitionDemonstrating ability to apply basic tax knowledge and basic payroll/payroll tax knowledgeDeveloping and maintaining excellent client relationships on behalf of the FirmMaintaining and continually developing working knowledge of compilations and reviewsProficiently using Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, Engagement, FAS, QuickBooks and 1099 ETC and other software, as applicableRequired Education & QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Accounting requiredQuickBooks experience preferred1+ year of accounting experienceProficient knowledge of Word and ExcelAbility to learn a variety of accounting software programsAbility to work independently, multi-task in a dynamic environment, set priorities and be accountableAbility to prepare a complete and accurate set of financial statements, including balance sheet, income statement, cash flow statement, with minimal supervision.Effectively applies accounting principles and procedures to overall engagementExcellent problem solving and analytical skills are requiredRequires good decision making and verbal and written communication skillsltUIoYotQp
